I thought I would give you some advice about Bankroll Management.
If you check what the so called experts say about Bankroll management is that when playing a tournament you should have about 40 – 50 buyins. Well, this is rubbish, and thats why these so called experts write about bankroll management instead of actually making money playing poker. You will never find me writing about bankroll management I’m to busy playing poker.

So back to Bankroll management. I as was saying these “experts” tell you you should have about 40 -50 buyins to play that tournament so if you deposit $10 and your a new player you have to spend the next 5 -6 years playing 20c buyins. Good luck with that. I’m telling you to put all your money in the next tournament. So instead of you playing a tournament for 20c, winning and getting a $1 for your trouble. Im telling you to put the $10 in a tournament, preferable a big one, then you have more chance of making big money and move up the ranks instead of playing 20c tournaments for the next 5 years.

So I’ll go in to a wee bit more. Here is a formula to work out what you should be playing.

First to make sure poker is worth your time work out how much you make in your own job, your Pay per Hour. So for the formula we’ll call this: P for Pay

Second you have to work out how many players are going to be in the tournament. So for the for the formula we’ll call this: P for Players.

Thirdly work out how long it is going to take. So we’ll call this T for Time.

So know we have
P = Pay
P = Players
T = Time

So say you make $20 an hour at your work. So P = 20
And there is 1000 players in the tournament. So P = 1000
And the tournament will last about 10 hrs. So T = 10

Now we have our values, we put it in the formula.

So If the tournament lasts 10hrs and you get paid $20 a hour you will need to win at least $200 to make it worth your while. So we use formula P x T = what you need to win.

So know we need to know how much you will win so we know theres 1000 player, P and the winner usually gets 40% of the prize pool so what you can win is 1000 x 0.4 = 400. this tells us you wil win about 400 times your buyin. So times that by your buyin and thats how much you’ll win. so P x 0.4 x buyin is what you ll win.

So know we know P x T will need to equal P x 0.4. so P x T = P x 0.4 x buyin

So remember this formula when ever you go to play a tournament it is so easy to use you will even know how to use it.

PxT=Px0.4xBuyin There you go bankroll made simple, and easy to follow, with a straight foward formula.
